Everyone thought at least once in their life that they could write a book, but we all know that it takes more than just scribbling on paper. Only authors know how much creativity and discipline it takes to get over with the hurdle. The biggest challenge is the work itself- to sit down and start writing until you finish! Writing a book is a process that takes place in stages. There are several factors that are undermined and marginalized even if they are crucial for a successful bestseller.
Aside from your imagination, creativity, and writing talent, you have to figure out what you want to write about and what is the topic your book is going to revolve around. Many of the aspiring authors keep postponing starting to write, and that can be a real catch 22 as it can easily happen that they never start. So you have to find time simply to begin writing, and that is step number 1.
Motivation is a key part of the writing process, and even if you come across challenges and your mind blocks, you need to keep yourself motivated to master all the hindrances on your way. You need to conquer moments of despair and self-doubt as they come.
How many people do you know that started something but never brought it to an end? You have to be determined not to be that person. Once you start writing, there is no quitting until you completed the book.
Schedule
In order to get through the three major phases, you need to make a plan on how to make it happen. First of all, you need to find time on a daily basis for your writing. A defined book time will boost your creativity, and not to fall behind your schedule, you need to push yourself to respect your ahead defined deadlines. Also, writing in the same place every day can be helpful (just like when studying for school).
You need to know how you want to structure your book, so it is a good idea to decide in forward how many words it is going to be, so you can also plan the chapters to be of equal or similar length. This will also enable you to divide the work into stages, e.g. you can plan how much work is to be done every week.
Even if you are a mysterious artist who does not want to share with others before the product is complete, writing a book requires a few advisers who can give you useful feedback so you can edit minor mistakes on the go. You can ask family members, friends, or any other people that seem suitable for the task.
After you have completed all the steps and stages, you will probably get nervous when it is publishing time. Do not hesitate to get your book on the market, even if it does not get great reviews; it does not matter. Failure helps us to grow stronger and make it better next time, so never give up. On the other hand, who knows, maybe you land a bestseller right away.
