The Pastoral and Patrick White

Following the successful ASAL veterans’ “Old Lags” Conference on Norfolk Island last year, Susan Lever and Julian Croft are organising a short conference at ‘Belltrees’ the White family property near Scone (NSW). Offers of 20 to 30 minute papers on some aspect of Patrick White and the Pastoral or Pastoralism would be welcome, though other relevant subjects would also be considered. Accommodation at Belltrees (some shared rooms) and all meals are included in the conference fee.  Usual practice for Veteran’s Conferences is for papers to be given in the morning and free afternoons. Tours of the homestead and the property will be arranged. Readings and entertainment at night will also be scheduled. The Conference will last from Sunday afternoon (17 October) to Tuesday afternoon (19 October). Deadline for abstracts: 3rd May, 2010.

Expressions of interest and a short abstract can be sent to:
Julian Croft: juliancroft@bigpond.com

Places are limited for this conference, so if you are interested in coming, please complete the registration form and pay your deposit as soon as possible, certainly by 17th May, 2010.
